Sunday night’s episode of Boardwalk Empire was the darkest one yet. And not just in revealing the interiors of the characters. I think they forgot to schedule the lighting crew when they shot this episode.
Really. I had to squint at nearly every scene, even the ones shot in broad daylight (those looked unduly gray). Now, granted, the fact that I’m in a La Quinta Motel room watching on a Zenith tube TV from the 1980s might’ve had something to do with it. I mean, my big-screen LCD-HD from Asia really brings this show to life, but come on. Maybe a little light here and there would’ve been in order, don’t you think.
Nevertheless, it was a pretty good episode, and you can read my full review of it on Spinetingler.
